BOULDER, Colo. – Sara Catherine Nelson and Matthew Joseph Striegel, both of Sugar Land, Texas, were married in a double-ring ceremony at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Boulder, Colo. Deacon David Luksch officiated.
She is the daughter of James and Diana Nelson of Crystal Lake. He is the son of Nick and Leslie Striegel of Westminster, Colo.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an antique ivory strapless lace gown with a chapel train. She carried a floral bouquet of peach, pink and ivory peonies, roses, ranunculus and succulents.
Maid of honor was Mary Nelson of Crystal Lake. Bridesmaids were Stephanie French of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Nicole Bombino of Orange County, Calif., Tsasha Facteau of Boulder, Colo., Karen Waelke of Denver and Savannah Striegel of Westminster, Colo.
Best man was Drew Striegel of Minneapolis. Groomsmen were Bill Waelke of Denver, Nick Striegel of St. Louis, Jim Nelson of Crystal Lake, Rob Rathmann of Antioch, Ben Strohschein of Orange County, Calif., and John Striegel of St. Louis. Ushers were Chris Tiemann of St. Louis, Mike Yoshida of Portland, Ore., and Brian Carroll of Crystal Lake.
Nuptial music was provided by bagpiper Steve Emmerson and pianist Mary Nelson.
After a reception at The Hotel Boulderado, the couple took a wedding trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley in California.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Crystal Lake South High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She works for Ironman World Triathlon Corp. in Tampa, Fla.
The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Lutheran South High School in St. Louis, a 2002 graduate of Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., and a 2006 graduate of the University of North Dakota Law School in Grand Forks.
He is a partner of Ascent Sports in Houston.
They live in Sugar Land, Texas.
