Oswego man pleads guilty to battery in child-sex case

WOODSTOCK – An Oswego man convicted of involuntary manslaughter in a drug overdose death pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated battery in a case in which he was accused of sex acts with a then-13-year old girl.

The man, Mark S. Seranella, 24, was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. Other felony charges were dropped, including indecent solicitation of a child.

In January 2011, Seranella was sentenced to four years in prison for facilitating the drug deal that led to the overdose death of Ryan A. Maxwell, who was found dead at a friend’s apartment in January 2007.
