Benghazi situation

To the Editor:

I wonder if most Americans are so busy with daily activities and responsibilities that they really don’t pay attention to important events happening around them.

I am referring to the Benghazi situation, where four Americans were murdered during an al-Qaida attack on our embassy in Libya. I would be more confident about finding out the truth of what happened in Benghazi if the media were covering this story as if it were taking place during a Republican administration.

Why are the plain and simple questions related to this attack not being asked by the media?   Why does the tap dancing continue? Will the president actually nominate Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice as the next secretary of state? He knows that neither she nor anyone else, including the president himself, has adequately explained the misleading statements she made five days after the attack.

She very confidently blamed the attack and subsequent murders of four men on a protest to a video, knowing full well at the time it was an al-Qaida attack on our embassy.

How can we trust a person who would mislead us like that to be our secretary of sate? Are we so out of touch that this issue is not important?

Am I being cynical to think that it could be because it interfered with the president’s assertion that al-Qaida was decimated before the election? I don’t see any other explanation.

Someone, please, help me understand.
