Illinois House approves April special election

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Illinois House has voted unanimously to allow the special election to replace Jesse Jackson Jr. in Congress to be held April 9.

The Senate still must approve the bill.

Jackson resigned last week, citing his struggles with bipolar disorder. He also admitted he's the subject of a federal probe. Investigators reportedly are looking into whether Jackson misused campaign funds.
