OSHA: Swans to blame for Villa Park man’s death

CHICAGO – Federal safety officials said the swans were to blame for the death of a Villa Park man in April.

Authorities said 37-year-old Anthony Hensley worked to keep geese away from a condo complex near Des Plaines. He fell out of his kayak and drowned while checking out the swans. Officials said he apparently got too close and was attacked.

WBBM radio reported investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration worked to determine whether any safety violations contributed to Hensley’s death.
