Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Christmas in Harvard comes early.

The annual event put on by the city's Events Committee features a downtown parade, craft fair and carriage rides. It kicks off from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday with breakfast with Mrs. Claus at Kelley's Family Restaurant, 5420 Route 14.

A variety of events runs through Harvard's Starline Building, 300 W. Front St.

Santa's Gift Shoppe, a shop for children to buy presents for $11 or less, stays open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of an hour for lunch, starting at noon. The Craft Fair featuring about 15 area crafters also runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Christmas in Harvard parade takes off at 12:30 p.m. from Washington School, 305 S. Hutchinson St., and ends downtown on Front Street.

After the parade, Santa Claus will be in the Starline Building until 4 p.m. to visit with children and take pictures.

Free carriage rides run from 1 to 4 p.m. and leave from the corner of Eastman and Front streets.
