Murphy, Tigers solve Marengo

MARENGO – Corbin Murphy, along with all of Crystal Lake Central’s boys basketball team, had a tough time solving Marengo’s zone defense early.

Although Murphy shot a poor percentage in the first half, the senior came back with 10 points in the third quarter and finished with a game-high 21 points to lead Central to a 61-39 nonconference road victory.

“It’s a good game for confidence to come in here and get a road win,” Murphy said. “We don’t really play against a lot of zone so it was good for us to see what they threw at us.”
