Last chance to submit nominations for the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce’s Frank E. Low Award. This is the chamber’s highest award given to an individual for distinguished community service.
Frank E. Low was involved with McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce through the ’60s and ’70s and the early days of Fiesta Days, making each better because of his enthusiastic touches.
Deadline for nominations is Wednesday. Nomination forms and criteria sheets are available at the chamber office, 1257 N. Green St., McHenry, or online at www.mchenrychamber.com.
The Frank E. Low Award will be presented at the chamber's annual “Derby Dance, Run for the Roses” on Jan. 26 at D’Andrea Banquets. Complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6 p.m. with a filet mignon dinner at 7 p.m. Sweet table and complimentary beverages from 9 to 11 p.m. Back by popular demand is Lori Shane & the Mix.
In addition to the Frank E. Low Award, other awards to be presented are Board Member of the Year, Joe Thome Award and Ambassador of the Year.

Plan to attend the chamber’s Christmas Party today. Held at Chili’s in McHenry, this is always a hit with chamber members. Sponsored by Centegra Health System and the Northwest Herald, Life is a Journey is an expo within an expo featuring color-coded rows highlighting Leisure Lane, Senior Street, Pet Parkway, Health & Fitness Fairway, Financial Frontage, Woman's Walkway, Children's Court, Home Highway and Automotive Avenue.
