Cambridge students raise money to feed the poor
PINGREE GROVE – Third- and fourth-graders at Cambridge Lakes Charter School recently raised $1,700 that will help feed impoverished families during the holidays.
The students competed in their home rooms to score the most points by donating loose change and cash. The weeklong fundraiser in November netted $1,700.
The students decided to donate the money to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, which provides meals for low-income families around the Chicago area.
