Cary home damaged in morning fire
CARY – A Cary home was left uninhabitable after an early morning fire, according to the Cary Fire Protection District.
Crews were called to the 200 block of Machelle Drive at around 8:30 a.m. for a report of a structure fire, according to a news release. Firefighters arrived to find a two-story house on fire and smoke coming from the home.
Members of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, Fox River Grove, Nunda Rural, Crystal Lake, Lake Zurich, Wauconda, McHenry Township, Carpentersville and Lakewood fire departments assisted with the blaze, which included transporting water to and from the area due to a lack of fire hydrants.
