Durbin, Kirk recommend 4 for U.S. attorney

CHICAGO – Illinois' U.S. senators have recommended four finalists to become the new U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Illinois.

Sens. Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk say the names sent Monday to President Barack Obama for consideration are: Jonathan Bunge, Zachary Fardon, Lori Lightfoot and Gil Soffer. All four are former federal prosecutors.

Bunge is in private practice, focusing on corporate litigation and investigations.
