Feetterer sworn in as circuit judge

WOODSTOCK – McHenry County Judge Michael W. Feetterer was sworn in Monday as circuit judge, officially replacing the retired Joseph P. Condon.

In May, after Condon announced his retirement, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed Feetterer to fill the remainder of Condon's term that runs through December 2014.

An associate judge since 2004, Feetterer presided over family court and then handled a special assignment call until his recent move to misdemeanor criminal offenses.

He also is the presiding judge for drug court.

"I will continue to strive ... to earn the trust and confidence that has been placed in me," Feetterer said, accepting a robe from the McHenry County Bar Association.

Also retiring this year is Gerald M. Zopp.

Twenty four attorneys applied to fill the two vacant positions left open by the retirements; one has since withdrawn. A decision on who will be chosen is expected soon.
