Man dies in Huntley motorcycle crash

HUNTLEY – A 52-year-old man died Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle on Del Webb Boulevard, police said in a news release.

Keith R. Preble, of Huntley, was going east on his motorcycle about 2 p.m. on Del Webb Boulevard west of Summer Ridge Lane when he swerved to avoid an animal and lost control, police said.

He had severe injuries and was immediately taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Preble died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said.

Deputy Chief Mike Klunk said Preble was not wearing a helmet.

Traffic on Del Webb Boulevard between Nottingham Drive and Wildrose Drive was shut down for about 90 minutes, Klunk said.

The crash remains under investigation, Klunk said.
