Watchful eye

To the Editor:

The holidays are definitely upon us. It is a time that we spend with our families, give thanks for what we have been given, and rejoice in what the future may hold.

Parents, I ask you to keep a keen and watchful eye on your children and stop leaving them in your car while you make a “quick” stop into the local store. Recently, I was leaving a popular convenient store in Lakemoor and noticed a white Nissan Pathfinder was parked next to me. I noticed in the back was a small child restrained in a car seat who was totally alone. The keys to the vehicle were still in the ignition. I sat in my car and made sure nothing happened to this child until the parent came out some 10 minutes later.
