Cary garbage tax
To the Editor:
Recently the refuse service changed in Cary, from Groot to Veolia for all Cary residents. I have been a resident of Cary for nearly 10 years, and have not paid for garbage services because I own a business and use my Dumpster for all my refuse needs.
The new contract with Veolia requires that every resident of Cary has to pay for refuse service regardless of whether they utilize the service. What gives the city the right obligate the residents to such a contract?
