SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois lawmakers return to the Capitol Tuesday for the final three days of the Legislature's fall session. But big issues like fixing state pension funds or allowing expansion of legalized gambling will probably wait for January action.

The Senate will likely take up a plan to allow illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses and send it to the House. The Senate might also consider a House-approved resolution opposing wage increases for state workers this year.

Awaiting House action is a potential override of Gov. Pat Quinn's budget vetoes that would force the shutdown of state facilities. The Senate also sent the House a plan to require publicly traded corporations to publicize their tax bills.
