Sheriff: Holiday Hills woman knocked boyfriend out with hammer

WOODSTOCK – A Holiday Hills woman was arrested Monday after knocking her boyfriend unconscious with a hammer, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Cali L. Sander, 27, has been charged with aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery.

She remained at the McHenry County Jail on Wednesday on a $40,000 bond.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 1200 block of West Sunset Road in Holiday Hills around 5 a.m. Monday for a report of domestic battery, according to a news release.

The victim, identified as the woman’s boyfriend, told police that Sander had bitten him on the arm before hitting him on the head with a hammer, knocking him unconscious, the news release states.

The man later was taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry, where he was treated and then released.

Sander had left the home before police arrived, according to the news release.

Her next court date is Dec. 12.
