Park district earns high honor

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

The Huntley Park District has met the highest standards in the park and recreation profession, after earning state accreditation this week.

The Illinois Park Districts Association's accreditation board and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association granted Huntley's park district state accreditation, after officials there underwent an extensive review process.

Park district officials developed a comprehensive plan and completed facility audits in 2011, on top of reviewing current district policies and creating required policies for accreditation. The process roughly took two years.
