Fire damages vacant Carpentersville home

CARPENTERSVILLE – A fire caused more than $45,000 worth the damage to a vacant Carpentersville home Wednesday night, according to authorities.

Firefighters were called to the 100 block of Sioux Avenue at around 9 p.m. for a report of a structure fire, according to the Carpentersville Fire Department. Crews arrived to find flames coming from the rear of a home in that area.

The fire was extinguished in less than a half hour, fire officials said. Damage to the home was estimated at approximately $47,000. There were no injuries.
