Register for library programs

FOX RIVER GROVE – The Fox River Grove Memorial Library has upcoming programs for young authors, holiday gift-givers and hockey fans.

• Youth Authors: Students in grades one through eight who live within the boundaries of School District 3 are encouraged to submit original writing. Entry forms and rules will be available at the library and both District 3 school buildings beginning Monday. Manuscripts from previous entries will not be accepted. All completed entries are due by closing Feb. 1.

• Create a calendar: A Create a Calendar program will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. All materials will be supplied. Participants are welcome to bring personal photos. All ages are welcome. Registration is required. The program is limited to 40 participants.

• Winter Reading: Winter reading for youth and adults will run from Monday to Feb. 16. The Youth Winter Reading Club will be sponsored by the Chicago Wolves, with prizes including Wolves tickets, backpacks and knit hats. Adult participants are encouraged to read along with the children and will be eligible for a prize drawing. Adults must register at the Circulation desk.  Youth participants must register at the Ask Me desk. Registration is required.

The library, 407 Lincoln Ave., is open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 4 p.m. Saturday.
