Richmond to elect 4 trustees, president

RICHMOND – The village presidency and four of the six trustees’ seats are up in April.

Potential candidates have until 5 p.m. Dec. 26 to file petition packets with the necessary number of signatures.

The incumbents – acting Village President Pete Koenig and Trustees Dennis Bardy, Craig Kunz, Ramsin Wardanian and Scott Drabant – have picked up packets, Village Clerk Karla Thomas said.

Only Bardy has run for his seat before. Wardanian, Kunz and Drabant were appointed.

Koenig, who was elected to the board as a trustee, was chosen to replace Lauri Olson as village president when she resigned in late March. This will be his first run for village president.

Because of the appointments, three trustee positions will be four-year terms, and one will be a two-year term.

Those interested in running for the Village Board can choose which term they seek when they pick up petition packets at Richmond Village Hall, 5600 Hunter Drive.

Candidates can begin filing when Village Hall opens at 9 a.m. Monday until the office closes at 5 p.m. Dec. 26. Village Hall usually closes at 4 p.m.
