T-shirt smacks Herbstreit’s criticism of NIU’s bowl bid
DeKALB – The first shipment of T-shirts smacking an ESPN analyst critical of the Huskies’ Orange Bowl berth sold out within hours Wednesday.
The shirt from the company Smack Apparel arrived at The Village Commons Bookstore on Wednesday morning. The shirt reads “Kirk Herbstreit can bite me” on the front, with the phrase
“’Cause every dog has its day” on the back. ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, called the Huskies’ selection “an absolute joke” Sunday night.
Smack Apparel produces a number of smack-talk themed T-shirts, such as a Michigan shirt that says “Tre$$el’s Tattoo & Pawn, turning a blind eye since 2001,” in reference to the infamous tattoo scandal at Ohio State that cost coach Jim Tressel his job.
