To the Editor:
It’s been a while. It’s time to make some noise.
Reported in the Northwest Herald: McHenry County College raises tax levy 9.9 percent.
Now let’s see ... the MCC Board is like, say, the Ford Motor Co. Board. Ford’s board’s main job is to protect the stockholder and, second, look after the company. MCC’s board is voted in by the taxpayer. Just like the school boards, library, park district and other boards. Their main job is to protect those who voted them into office. So when did all this turn around? Why is their main concern to squeeze as much out of the taxpayer as they can?
To me, this is totally wrong, and it needs to be fixed. Time to vote these people out of office. Time to attach term limits on all elected people.
