Cook County logs 2nd cold-related death of season
CHICAGO – Authorities in Chicago say a 42-year-old homeless man is the second person in Cook County to die of cold exposure this season.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office reported that an autopsy Sunday determined that Thomas Grubb died from cold exposure and hypothermia.
Authorities said Grubb was found unresponsive after collapsing on a jogging track near a student center on the University of Illinois' Chicago campus. He later died at the University of Illinois Medical Center.
