Pait won the Mudge/McMorrow Invitational at 160-pounds at Prospect on Saturday. In the semifinals, Pait went down early, 5-2, to Fenwick’s Mike Kozyra but came back to stick a third period pin to advance. Kozyra is ranked No. 7 in Class 2A by illinoismatmen.com. In the championship match, Pait major decisioned Loyola’s David Kennedy, 19-6. Pait, who improved to 14-0 on the year, is not ranked in 3A.

Noteworthy

Regional Lineups Announced: Who goes where for regional competition on Feb. 2 was announced on Tuesday. Local teams are concentrated at one regional each for Class 1A and 2A but are spread across three regionals in Class 3A.

The Harvard Regional in 1A will advance to the Oregon Individual Sectional and Byron Dual Team Sectional with the Rock Falls, Sherrard and Dakota regionals.

In Class 2A, the Hampshire Regionals will advance to the Antioch Individual and Dual Team sectionals with the Fenton, Chicago Roosevelt and Lakes regionals.

The Huntley Regional in 3A will advance to the Barrington Individual Sectional, and a dual team sectional yet to be announced, with the Grant, Lake Zurich and Fremd regionals.

Class 1A
Harvard Regional: Alden-Hebron, Harvard, Christian Liberty Academy, Aurora Central Catholic, St. Edward. Genoa-Kingston, Mooseheart, North Boone, Wheaton Academy.

Class 2A
Hampshire Regional: Crystal Lake Central, Hampshire, Johnsburg, Marengo, Marian Central, Richmond-Burton, Woodstock, Woodstock North.

Class 3A
Huntley Regional: Crystal Lake South, Dundee-Crown, Huntley, Jacobs, DeKalb, Harlem, Auburn, Guilford, Jefferson, Hononegah.

Grant Regional: Prairie Ridge, McHenry, Grant, Warren, Libertyville, Mundelein, Round Lake, Waukegan, Zion-Benton.

Lake Zurich Regional: Cary-Grove, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, Stevenson, Palatine.

Gary Swanson Duals: At the Gary S. Swanson Dual Tournament at Marengo on Saturday, the host Indians finished second followed by Hampshire in third and Alden-Hebron in fifth. Grayslake North won the tournament.

Individual winners for Marengo were Corey Graham (113), Vic Golden (126), Damon Cloe (152) and Justin Dauphin (182). Whip-Purs winners were Nick Brown (145), Travis Keeling (160) and Anton Krocko (170).
