To the Editor:

Taxpayers of McHenry County, it is time to stand up and be counted!

McHenry County College is looking for a 9.9 percent increase in its levy and a $45 million bond sale for a health club. We all know the bond payoff will not come from tuition. We, the taxpayers, will be hit for the repayment of the bonds and 9.9 percent increase. If we show up at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at MCC and voice our opinions, maybe we can get the board’s attention. This is wishful thinking, since the board obviously is living under a rock.
