Volo trustee resigns for health reasons

VOLO – A village trustee resigned Tuesday from the Volo Village Board because of health reasons, the village president said.

Trustee LeRoy Wegener, who chaired the Human Relations Committee, will not finish his term, which runs through April.

President Burnell Russell has 60 days to recommend someone to finish Wegener's term,.

Those interested in being considered can send résumés highlighting the experience that would make them a good board member to brussell@villageofvolo.com.

To serve beyond April, the appointee would need to gather enough signatures to get on the April 9 ballot. Potential candidates can turn in nominating petitions Monday through Dec. 26.
