D-200 fills vacant board spot

WOODSTOCK – A high-ranking administrator with Centegra Health System will fill the void in District 200's School Board left by the death of board member Sue Palmore.

The board on Tuesday night appointed David Shinherr, director of orthopedics and neurology at Centegra.

"I thought it'd be a good opportunity for me to – this board's wonderful to begin with – but to continue the reputation and provide the best educational opportunities to the students in District 200," Shinherr said.

Three candidates were interviewed for the vacant position.

Board President Paul Meyer said Shinherr's previous experience serving on various boards within his profession made him a unanimous choice.

Shinherr moved to Woodstock six years ago from Syracuse, New York. He has two children in District 200, both at Creekside Middle School.
