Everything’s political

To the Editor:

In a Nov. 30 letter, Melanie Horn asked for help in her effort to understand the Benghazi situation. I hope she will find my remarks useful.

It is the secretary of state who has authority over our several hundred embassies and consulates. It is important to note that the current secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, is not the target in this “situation,” despite her obvious responsibility. When you consider how much conservatives despise Mrs. Clinton, it seems strange that they would give her a pass in a matter they consider so important.
