Lakewood offers recycling of lights
LAKEWOOD – Village residents can recycle tangled, frayed or burned-out holiday lights and extension cords. Just drop the items in the receptacle for used lights at Village Hall, 2500 Lake Ave., through Jan. 31. Items may be dropped off during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The village will accept minilights (also known as Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords.
It has partnered with Elgin Recycling for the program.
