Barrett Wealth Connection brings financial planning to your door

SPRING GROVE – An astounding 69 percent of families lack a written financial plan.“If you’re one of these families, then you should be a bit nervous.” said Amy Barrett, founder of Barrett Wealth Connection LLC, 7919 Schmidt St., Spring Grove.

“You won’t know if you can retire or if your funds will last a lifetime,” said Barrett, adding that having a plan in place provides clarity and goals which in turn, provides peace of mind.

Barrett, who holds a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a bachelor's degree from Cornell University, and a certified financial planner designation, provides house calls around clients’ schedules. “Too many people use the lack of time to avoid tackling tough financial issues.” So, she arranges her day around her clients’ needs, including evening and weekend appointments.

Barrett Wealth Connection opened its doors in April to provide northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin families with financial planning, investment management, and personalized financial consulting. The company also provides institutional money management services such as 401(k) solutions.

Barrett started out as a commodity and securities broker in the 1980s, and said she quickly learned that selling investment products is not in the best interests of the clients. Her company offers fee-only fiduciary advice; a relationship that requires the company to put the clients’ interests first.
