Storyteller comes to celebration

CRYSTAL LAKE – Storyteller Jim Pfitzer will bring noted conservationist Aldo Leopold to life through his acclaimed performance, “Aldo Leopold: A Standard of Change” at The Land Conservancy of McHenry County’s 2013 annual celebration and brunch Jan. 27 at D’Andrea’s Banquets.

Visiting the farm and chicken coop-turned-shack that inspired Leopold’s seminal work, “A Sand County Almanac,” Pfitzer takes attendees for a visit to The Shack as he discusses some of the conservationist’s most important writings.

Tickets for the brunch and performance are $50 each for the public, and $35 for TLC members. The brunch will begin at 11 a.m. Pfitzer’s performance will run from 1 to 2 p.m. For information, visit www.conserveMC.org or by calling 815-337-9502.
