WOODSTOCK – A McHenry County Jail correctional officer facing charges in a domestic violence case in November was rearrested Friday on a misdemeanor of violating an order of protection stemming from an earlier domestic battery case.

Jeffrey P. Salerno, 42, of 4519 Nancy Drive, Crystal Lake, was charged in late November in an incident in which he is accused of striking his wife in the face with an open hand, forcing her to the ground and choking her.

In a request for an emergency order of protection, Salerno's wife accused him of other abuse, as well.
