Judge recused in ex-Chicago mayor's nephew trial
CHICAGO (AP) — A judge with ties to former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has decided not to preside over an involuntary manslaughter case against Daley's nephew.
Cook County Judge Arthur Hill announced in court Monday that he is recusing himself out of "an abundance of caution."
Hill was selected at random last week as the trial judge in the case against Richard Vanecko, who recently was indicted in the death of David Koschman after a 2004 fight outside a Chicago tavern.
