Man held without bond in ex-girlfriend's slaying
WHEATON, Ill. — A 23-year-old Woodbridge man is being held without bond after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend with a knife she'd given him as a gift.
Adam Belmont was charged Monday with killing 25-year-old Alyssa Van Meter.
DuPage County Prosecutors say Belmont on Saturday allegedly broke into the apartment that he had shared with Van Meter until they broke up earlier this month. They say he stabbed her to death in her bedroom with a knife that bore their names and anniversary date.
