D-300 teachers ratify contract
CARPENTERSVILLE – District 300 teachers Wednesday ratified a three-year contract, according to a LEAD 300 press release, and the deal now goes to the district board for a vote.
The board has already scheduled a special session Thursday to vote on the contract. The union, LEAD 300, was not immediately releasing the outcome of Wednesday's vote or the details of the agreement.
LEAD's 1,300 members earlier this month went on a one-day strike, after both sides failed to come to an agreement on how to pay for lower class sizes at the district. The labor stoppage was the first at the district in 40 years.
