Free tows to be offered
in Cary on New Year’s Eve

CARY – Three towing companies will offer free tow service during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Pat Blank of Whitey’s Towing, Dennis Stoner of D&L Midwest Towing and Ken McCoy of A+ Towing have agreed to provide free rides home and a free tow of the driver’s vehicle if revelers have had too much to drink to drive, the village said in a news release.

All three companies will provide the free service to anyone within the village limits to their home, within a five-mile radius. The free service will be provided from 10 p.m. Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. Jan. 1.

This is the second year the police department has partnered with tow companies to promote free tows on New Year’s Eve.

Last year, 12 people took advantage of free tows, Police Chief Steven Casstevens said.

“This is a great service that these companies are providing, helping to keep our residents as well as our roadways safe,” Casstevens said. “While we continue to encourage people to have a designated driver, this program goes one step further.”

A+ Towing can be contacted at 847-639-2655, D&L Towing’s phone number is 847-639-1764, and Whitey’s Towing’s number is 847-639-2750.
