Man, 19, arrested at Woodstock North parking lot

WOODSTOCK – A 19-year-old was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance Wednesday morning after police spotted a suspicious vehicle in a high school parking lot.

A Woodstock police school resource officer assigned to Woodstock North noticed the vehicle containing three passengers in the parking lot at 3000 Raffel Road, police said.

John R. De Lorenzo, 5321 Shore Drive, McHenry, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. At the Woodstock Police Department, De Lorenzo failed several field sobriety tests, police said. He subsequently was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

One of the passengers was taken to an area hospital because he was incoherent and unable to care for himself, police said in a news release.
