Girl says man tried to abduct her in Harvard

HARVARD – Police are investigating an attempted child abduction Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of McKinley Street.

Police arrived at 3:48 p.m. An 11-year-old girl reported that a man wearing sunglasses drove up next to her in a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows and said something to the effect of “if you don’t get in the car I will hurt you,” police said in a news release.

Harvard police officers were nearby on an unrelated call, and the girl said the man drove away when he saw their squad cars.
