Harvard police look for driver who approached girl

HARVARD – Authorities are searching for a man who threatened to hurt a child if she didn’t get into his vehicle Wednesday, according to the Harvard Police Department.

Police were called to the 500 block of West McKinley Street at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious person.

An 11-year-old girl told police that a man in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle with tinted windows pulled up next to her in the 900 block of 4th Street and told her, “If you don’t get in the car, I will hurt you,” according to a news release. The man later fled after seeing squad cars in the area responding to an unrelated incident.
