2 arrested in
robbery at Dundee-Crown

CARPENTERSVILLE – Two people have been charged for an armed robbery this week outside Dundee-Crown High School, police said.

A 14-year-old male and Angelo T. Brown, 17, both of Carpentersville, were charged Thursday with armed robbery and attempted vehicle theft in an incident about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the two approached a sophomore in the school’s south parking lot while a girls’ basketball game was in progress, allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded the sophomore’s cellphone and car keys.

Brown and the 14-year-old, whose name was not released, fled on foot, possibly because they were scared off by a vehicle entering the area, police said. They did not take the victim’s keys.

Brown is scheduled to appear in court today for a bond hearing.
