Chicago-area woman who abandoned child released
CHICAGO (AP) — An immigrant from Myanmar who left her son outside a suburban Chicago apartment building moments after his birth has been released from federal custody.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Nunu Sung has been living in the Chicago area since mid-November.
She gave birth to her son in June 2009 outside a Wheaton apartment building and left the child under a bush. A neighbor found him after about 90 minutes.
