Chicago Skyway fare to rise to $4 next year
CHICAGO – It's going to cost motorists more to travel on the Chicago Skyway next year.
Tolls will jump from $3.50 to $4 on the Chicago Skyway starting Jan. 1. That 8-mile stretch of roadway is run by the private Skyway Concessions Company, which has a 99-year lease with the city.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that when the Skyway rate rose to $3.50 in January of 2011, it was the highest toll per mile of any interstate toll system tracked by the Federal Highway Administration.
