Congressman joins inmates for Christmas service

CHICAGO – Congressman Danny Davis says talking to inmates renews his spirit.

The Chicago Democrat joined the Rev. Jesse Jackson Tuesday at Cook County Jail for a Christmas Day service for inmates.

Davis and Jackson say their focus will be on talking about gun control. Both support an assault weapons ban.

Davis tells The Associated Press that the holiday tradition at the jail picks up his spirit.

Davis was first elected to the U.S. House in 1996.
