Senior Services touts January programs

JOHNSBURG – Senior Services Associates will host a series of programs at the McHenry Township Senior Center, 3519 Richmond Road.

• Photography class: Award-winning photographer Jerry Tomaselli will offer a digital photography class at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10. The cost is $5, and registration is required. Anyone interested in learning how to take beautiful digital photographs can benefit from this class.

• Painting class: Seniors will learn to create a beautiful winter snowman painting at the "Holiday One Stroke Painting" class offered from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 11. All levels of ability may attend. Supplies are provided, but participants may bring their own One Stroke brushes. The cost is $20, and registration is required.

• Computer open house: A volunteer will be available at an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 11 to offer assistance and answer computer-related questions. Seniors are encouraged to bring their laptops or notebooks to ask specific questions.

• Salon day: Salon services will be offered Monday, Jan. 14. Morena will provide affordable haircuts, manicures and pedicures to seniors. To make an appointment, contact Cindi Stoffel at 815-344-3555.

• Computer class: A beginner computer class will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 14, 16, and 18.A fee of $5 will be collected on the first day of class. Class size is limited, and registration is required.
