CRYSTAL LAKE – As the new year approaches, area residents are encouraged to consider volunteering and giving back one of their resolutions.

The Faith in Action program serves all seniors, age 60 and over, who live in McHenry County or Sun City, with many ways to help a senior remain independent and in their own home.

Volunteers provide the “gift of a lift” to a doctor appointments or other life-enriching destinations. They visit with seniors in their homes to prevent loneliness and let them know someone in the community cares. They help with minor home repairs or seasonal yard work. Orientations are held twice a month. The organization also offers mileage reimbursement for the volunteers who provide transportation.
