Faith in Action urges volunteering

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Faith in Action of McHenry County issued the following news release:

As the New Year approaches, have you ever considered making one of your resolutions volunteering and giving back to your community? The Faith in Action program serves all seniors, age 60 and over, who live in McHenry County or Sun City and we offer many ways that you can volunteer to help a senior remain independent in their own home.

Provide the “gift of a lift” to a doctor’s appointment or to many other life-enriching destinations. Visit with a senior in their home to prevent loneliness and let them know someone in the community cares. Help with minor home repairs or seasonal yard work.

Just an hour of your time, whether it is an hour a week or an hour a month, can make a real difference in the life of a senior who may even be your neighbor.

Orientations are held twice a month and we also offer mileage reimbursement for the volunteers who provide transportation. For more information, please contact Susan McCoy at 815-455-3120 x223 or visitwww.fiamchenrycounty.org to complete an online application.

With a growing senior population, we really need your help so please contact us today!
