LITH to host pond hockey tournament

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual pond hockey tournament Jan. 19.

Teams are urged to register quickly, the department said in a news release, because the tournament almost is full.

Officials also are needed for the tournament to be held on Woods Creek Lake.

All games have two 15-minute (running clock) halves, with a two-minute halftime. Games start at 8 a.m.

The public is encouraged to cheer their favorite team and then head to Moretti's, a tournament sponsor, for postgame food and drinks.

The winning team will be honored on the ice during the national anthem at the Feb. 17 Chicago Wolves game.

For information, call Trevor at the Parks and Recreation Department at 847-960-7460.
