McCullom Lake man accused of sexually abusing girl

McCULLOM LAKE – A McCullom Lake man remained in the McHenry County Jail on Wednesday, accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.

Rafael Rodriguez-Sanchez, 41, of 4600 Parkview Drive, is charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of domestic battery.

His bond is set at $100,000; he must post 10 percent, or $10,000, to be released.

On Saturday, McCullom Lake police responded to a local doctor's office for a child under 13 who reported that Rodriguez-Sanchez sexually abused her at her home.

With assistance from the Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County, an interview was conducted with the alleged victim, who disclosed the abuse, police said.

Rodriguez-Sanchez, who was already in custody on the domestic battery charge, was charged on Monday with the assault and served with a warrant while at the jail.
