CL man faces drug charges

CRYSTAL LAKE – A Crystal Lake parolee faces multiple drug charges for allegedly possessing cocaine near a school, police said.

Jimmy M. Martinez, 24, of 1534 Briarwood Circle, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with several offenses, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, unlawful possession of marijuana and obstructing service of process.

According to the criminal complaint, Martinez lied about his whereabouts when officers conducted a parole check at his home.

Illinois Department of Corrections records show Martinez was released on parole in June. He was serving one year in prison for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon out of Cook County.

Martinez was in the McHenry County Jail on Tuesday with bond set at $150,000. He must post $15,000 to be released.
